West Coast Show Schedule

May 8 -9: Rogue River Gold 2004, Central Point, OR. Optional Single/Double-point halter and performance shows. Judges: John McCullough and Johnna Edmunds. Fleece and fiber arts competitions. Fleece judge: Cynthia Heeren; Spinner's Choice: Marilyn Milton. Gold Rush obstacle and playground and costume parade. Saturday night dinner. May 9: Western States Llama Futurity, Central Point, OR. Held in conjunction with the Rogue River Gold ALSA Show. Jackson County Exposition Center. May 15: Dr. Robert Pollard (veterinarian, lecturer, author) Health Clinic, Redlands, CA. Dr. Robert Pollard will conduct a clinic covering llama and alpaca health issues such as breeding, infertility, neonatal care, vaccinations, West Nile Virus, current research and a question and answer session on Saturday, at Fur and Feathers Ranch, Redlands, California. June 5-6: Grand Canyon Classic - Double Points Llama Show & Llama Fleece Show, Flagstaff, AZ. Judges: Terry Duespohl and Cathie Kindler; Fleece Judge: Sharon Beacham. Two shows, two judges, one time thru the showring, plus an ALSA Llama Fleece Show with the Walking Fiber and Walking Suri Fiber classes. These shows are being held in conjunction with the Southwest Llama Breeders' Futurity. This event has 5 shows total, including an amatuer futurity, and promises to be a great show. Come on out and spend a few days showing your llamas in the cool pine trees of Flagstaff, Arizona. Side trips to the Grand Canyon are just a short ride away and the weather is beautiful. June 23-27:LANA Expo 2004, Ferndale, CA. Held at the Humboldt County Fairgrounds. Expo offers a solid two-day educational program, separate youth program, PLTA-sanctioned pack trial and a two-day ALSA show. On the National Register of Historic Places, Ferndale was recently rated one of the 10 best small towns in America by Travel Holiday magazine. September 3-6, 2004, California State Fair Llama Show -Cal Expo, Sacramento, California . ALSA sanctioned Llama Show held on the last 4 days of the fair. Combined with the Labor Day holiday the show requires that our youth will only miss 1 day of school instead of the usual 4 days when the show was held during the week.
