LLAMA ASSOCIATION SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA

End of the Year Awards points criteria

Effective 1-1-2015

All awards are calculated by the Current ALSA point chart at the beginning of the year.   Grand and Reserve Halter Class winners will receive points based on the total number animals in the division.  Reserve will receive 1  less point than Grand.  Points for  Grand and Reserve are not in addition to class points but instead of.  Awards are for LASC members in good standing and points are calculated for shows after the date of membership.

HIGH POINT PERFORMANCE

Masters – Advanced – Novice

Grand Champion & Reserve Champion

Masters, Advanced or Novice division will receive points in obstacle, public relations,  pack, and cart classes. Points in a Open class will be given to the llama in its appropriate division.  If the handler shows more than one llama in a class and places with more  than one llama they will only receive points for the highest place awarded in  that class.

 

 

 

HIGH POINT HALTER RANCH

Grand Champion & Reserve Champion

Points will be calculated in the name that is on the Certificate of Registration  regardless of who the handler is in the ring. If the owner/ranch has more than one llama in a class and places with more than one llama they will only receive points for the highest place awarded in that class.  Grand and Reserve Halter Class winners will receive points based on the total number animals in the division.  Reserve will receive 1  less point than Grand.  Points for  Grand and Reserve are not in addition to class points but instead of.

HIGH POINT YOUTH

Junior – Intermediate – Senior

Grand Champion & Reserve Champion

To be considered for this Award a Youth must be a member in good standing  with their name listed on a  Ranch Membership or a Youth Member.

All points received in Youth Obstacle, Public Relations, Pack, Youth Judging and showmanship  classes will be calculated into this award. Only points received in Youth classes  will be calculated into this award. In the interest of promoting  youth participation, youth are not required to own the llama they show.

ADULT SHOWMANSHIP

Grand Champion & Reserve Champion

Points will be calculated by the ALSA points chart at the shows listed above.

LLAMA AWARDS

  1. ANDREWS SIR AWARD

The St. Andrews Sir Award is awarded to the top performance llama during the  year.  Only points for Master, Advanced or  Open Obstacle, Public Relations, Pack, Pack String, Cart and costume are used  for this award.  Halter classes,  Showmanship, and group class points are not included. Llamas entered as a team in Pack String or Cart class will receive points  respective to their placing.

HIGH POINT HALTER LLAMA

Grand Champion & Reserve Champion

Points are calculated in the name of the Llama.  Points received in all Halter classes are calculated into this award. The handler may not necessarily be the owner. Grand and Reserve Halter Class winners will receive points based on the total number animals in the division.  Reserve will receive 1  less point than Grand.  Points for  Grand and Reserve are not in addition to class points but instead of.
